who is HOYT?

Hoyt Archery builds custom hunting bows for sportsmen and hobbyist shooters all over the US, selling through their dealer network.

Hoyt’s bows can be made totally custom from top to bottom, so providing customers with a simple building experience that  enabled them to visualize a specific set of features was the driving goal with the 3D builder.

the challenge

Hoyt's primary objective when starting a 3D configuration project with Dopple was to showcase their products in 3D to increase order accuracy for their orders that arrive from customers through the dealer channel.

Hoyt needed a 3D platform solution that would increase engagement and time spent on the website, and add allure for their passionate customer base to continue to browse, shop, and spend more.

As a brand that stands for craftsmanship by professional shooters with a premium price point, the level of realism of the 3D rendering was also a crucial part of building confidence for buyers and dealers

Project Goals

Hoyt needed a seamless solution to deliver a user's desired configurations to individual dealers that used high fidelity visuals and a user experience that was easy to navigate.

Many of Hoyt's bows have unique features that are only available on specific models, so building an experience that took those nuances into account was imperative to ensuring orders were accurate.

Dopple's Strategic Solutions

Dopple built a high fidelity, 3D product configurator with Augmented Reality for Hoyt’s compound hunting bow line. Hoyt is leveraging the suite of Dopple product features.

  • Hoyt drives all of their website traffic and customer browsing to the 3D product configurator via a strategic CTA. If a user wants to build a bow, they will be directed to the configurator experience from the homepage, or from the product page of a specific bow.

  • Hoyt’s dealer network has praised this process, stating it has made it much easier for them to build bows in store with clients as well as order them when a customer comes in with the configurations predefined.
